How to Use a Moodboard to Plan Products That Sell
A rising palette here, a trending motif there, a half-finished note about a title idea, a few inspiration pics saved to your phone. Most product ideas start scattered across four or five places, and by the time you sit down to actually make the thing, half of it is lost. My Studio is built to stop that: one moodboard per product, everything you have gathered sitting in it together.

Start a product idea
In My Studio, name the product you are planning (something like "Spring wedding invitation suite") and hit Plan your product. That opens an empty moodboard for it. Start one for every product you have in mind, not just one at a time, so you always have somewhere to drop an idea the moment it shows up.
Save straight from a drop
Open your niche's monthly drop and you will see a + Save button on every palette, trend, motif and keyword card. Tap it, pick the product moodboard it belongs to (or create a new one on the spot), and that item is saved into it with its image. Browse a whole drop this way and your moodboard fills itself in as you go, rather than you trying to remember what you liked later.
Add your own inspiration too
A moodboard is not limited to what came from a drop. Inside the project, + Add your own images lets you upload any inspiration you have found elsewhere, several at once. They sit in the same grid as the saved palettes and trends, so you can see your own references and the sourced trend data side by side.
Keep your notes and listing link with it
Each moodboard has its own notes box for your plan, wording ideas or anything else worth writing down, and a field for the listing link once it is live. Nothing about this one product lives anywhere else.
Duplicate or move things around
Making a second product in the same style? Duplicate copies the whole moodboard, so you are not starting from scratch. If an item would fit a different product better, Move sends it from one moodboard to another without re-saving it.
Track it through, or send it on
If you are not using the automation tools, tick each moodboard through Idea, In progress and Published as you work on it, so you can see everything at a glance across every product you have planned. If your plan includes Product Plans, Add to Product Plan moves the whole moodboard over to actually build and list it, bringing every saved item and note with it.

Common questions
What is a moodboard in Digital Product Forecast used for?
It is My Studio's planning space for one product. You save palettes, trends, motifs and keywords from any drop into it, add your own inspiration images, keep notes and a listing link, then track it through to published or send it on to Product Plans to list it.
Can I save my own images, not just ones from the trend drops?
Yes. Inside any product moodboard, Add your own images lets you upload inspiration you found elsewhere, alongside anything saved from a drop.
